Get ready for the next installment of the hit anime series “Shangri-La Frontier”! The key visuals and additional characters for the 2nd season have been released, and we’ve got all the details for you.
The 2nd season of “Shangri-La Frontier” will premiere on October 13th, 2024, and will be broadcast on 28 MBS and TBS affiliated stations nationwide every Sunday at 17:00.
The key visual for the 2nd season shows Sanraku, Emuru, Saiga-0, and new characters Akane Akitsu and Shikuru facing off against the approaching night attack of Lycaon. The visual promises an action-packed and thrilling ride for fans of the series.
Two new characters have been introduced for the 2nd season:
- Akane Akitsu: A pioneer (player) who was recognized by Siegwurm of Tenpa, one of the “Seven Strongest Species,” and was given a marking (curse). Akane will be voiced by Yuka Terasaki.
- Shikuru: The son of Weiss Ash and the older brother of Emuru. Shikuru will be voiced by Natsuki Hanae.

- Yuka Terasaki (Akane Akitsu): “I will be taking part in ‘Shangri-La Frontier’ as Akane Akitsu! I plan to play the bright, straightforward and energetic Akane with lots of energy and fun. With Sanraku, you can immerse yourself in the anime as if you were playing a game with Shangri-La Frontier! I’m really looking forward to playing with her as Akane Akitsu from the second season!”
- Natsuki Hanae (Shikuru): “I first encountered online games, including MMOs, when I was in elementary school, and ever since then I’ve been hooked and devoted most of my youth to them. I’d love to play ‘Shangri-La Frontier’! It’s a dreamlike space! This time I’ve been given the role of Shikuru. I hope to bring out the best in him and play him so that he becomes a familiar NPC and a memorable character for players who have actually played the same game for a long time! Thank you!”
