Rooster Fighter Manga Anime Adaptation Announced

At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, it was announced that the Roosters Fighter manga would receive an anime television series adaptation. The series will be produced by Sanzigen and Sola Entertainment, directed by Daisuke Suzuki, and have Hiroshi Seko as the series composer. Sola Entertainment CEO Joseph Chou will serve as producer.

The anime adaptation will follow the narrative from the manga and will be broadcast in the United States on Adult Swim. A first teaser trailer for the anime was released at SDCC 2024, which showed Keiji and highlighted some of his attacks against demons. The first key visual for the anime was also released, featuring Keiji, Piyoko (a chick who travels with Keiji), and a demon.

Rooster Fighter is a Japanese web manga series written and illustrated by Shū Sakuratani. It has been serialized on Hero’s Inc.’s Comiplex manga website since December 2020. The story follows Keiji, a lone rooster who wanders around various cities in Japan, defeating mutant demons he encounters. His ultimate goal is to find and kill the mutant known as “The White Demon” who murdered his sister, seeking revenge for her death.

The manga has been licensed in North America by Viz Media, and it has also been licensed in Argentina and Spain by Editorial Ivrea, and in Brazil and Mexico by Panini Comics. As of January 29, 2024, seven volumes of the manga have been released.

The latest chapters of the manga can be read via Viz Media, with new chapters set to be released on July 29, 2024. The anime is currently in production, and it is expected to air on Adult Swim, with other streaming partners to be announced soon.
